Teaching Point: 這本書適合用於開學前夕/第一天一起討論上學第一天會有的心境。也可以用於「交通工具」單元跟大家討論大家上學的交通工具是什麼。


"My First Day"

Whether it is the first day of stepping into the classroom; the first day waving hello to your new co-workers; the first day of walking into your new home or traveling for the first time in a new country, the first day is always an exciting and nervous day.

The protagonist in the book grew up in a village in Vietnam. On the first day of school, he was skating alone in a small boat all the way through the wind and waves. Although he encountered some timid voices and unfamiliar things on the road, the protagonist bravely moved forward "Day One" started.

Teaching Point: This will be a great book for students to read on the first day of school! Teachers can discuss with the students how they feel on the first day of school. This book will also be a great use for the unit of "Transportation"- Do all students come to school by using the same transportation? Why or why not? Have a fun discussion!
